The 2023 year at the guild is going to be an exciting one. The workshops will continue to be on Saturday afternoons from 1:00-4:00 pm here at the guild (608 N. 2 nd ). The cost of each workshop is $35 and covers all materials used. We plan the activities so that you will be able to take home a finished product when you leave.
This Year’s Schedule Includes:
April 15: watercolor tulips
with Mary Ann Hendrix A beginning level workshop with a variety of watercolor techniques.
May 20: Gelli plate printing
with Sarah Schaeffer An introduction to printing with a gelli plate. A way to create one of a kind decorated papers to use in collage work.
June 17: Charcoal drawing
with Katie Hendrix Long This workshop is for the drawing enthusiast. Using compressed charcoal to draw and shade an animal.
July 22: Mixed media cowboy boot
with Sarah Schaeffer Another rodeo based workshop. This time with acrylic and gelli printed paper to create an 11X14 painting of a cowboy boot.
August 19: Acrylic painted landscape with clouds
with Patty McGee Using various acrylic techniques, we will be painting a western landscape with an emphasis on cloud formations.
September 16: Needle felted pumpkin faces
with Heather Vandermeer Needle felting used to create an adorable pumpkin with a character face.
October 21: Quilled paper snowflakes
with Dr. Mary Davis This art form has been around for years and we will be learning some basic techniques to create a snowflake form.
November 18: Christmas ornaments
with Sharon Stuart This workshop will give you an opportunity to create several different Christmas ornaments using a variety of techniques.
