I have lived in SW Kansas my entire life. I have had the opportunity to travel quite a lot in the US and abroad and always find Kansas my favorite place to be and absolutely love the beauty it has to offer.
I have been working as a nurse for the last 20 years and prior to that, as a graphic artist for a local publishing company. I recently decided to pursue my art full-time and have been painting non-stop since.
I have been inspired to create my entire life and explored many mediums. I found watercolor to be my favorite due to its transparency and unpredictability. I enjoy “going with the flow” and creating highly saturated and detailed pieces out of such simple components. I paint very wet so larger pieces are stretched by hand. I layer paint preserving light and creating shadows until I’m satisfied with what I see on the paper.
My strong desire to “paint what others want and need” has been fulfilled through my commissioned pieces. I truly love bringing special moments, people, places, pets and even memories to life for others in a painting that they can treasure for years to come. I am inspired by the beauty all around me and no matter where I am, find the possibilities for subject matter endless.
